I am in the middle of writing a post about this past
weekend, but here’s a little something for you in the meantime.
dSometimes it’s nice to have an easy recipe to go to when
things are hectic or you just don’t feel like doing a whole lot. It’s not
uncommon to make sloppy joe’s from a can, but this recipe is pretty simple.
It’s a great one to make a double or triple batch and put the rest in the
freezer for a quick meal.
2 lbs ground beef
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
½ green pepper, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
2 cups ketchup
2 tsp prepared mustard (plain)
4 tsp brown sugar
·
In a large skillet, heat the oil on medium high
heat.
·
Brown the ground beef and the seasonings (garlic
powder to the parley flakes).
·
Drain the grease.
·
Sautée the onion and green pepper until tender.
·
Add the seasoned ground beef, garlic powder,
ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar.
·
Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
·
Serve on hamburger buns.
